Current Studio Guidelines to follow (Updated 9/1/2023):
-Dancers may not be dropped off more than 15 minutes before the studio opens.
-All dancers need to be picked up by closing time at night, otherwise they will incur a $15 late fee.
-All dancers (and anyone who enters the building) should sanitize upon entry to our lobby area.
-All dancers should sanitize as they leave their classroom/lobby area.
-Dancers may bring a dance bag into the studio with them, but we ask that you keep minimal supplies inside (dance shoes, water bottle labeled with their name, snacks if necessary, *nothing non-dance related).
All other items- coats, shoes, etc. should be hung/placed in our lobby area on our benches/hooks.
-If in-person classes are not allowed to continue because of a state mandate, we will run all classes live on Zoom at their regularly scheduled time. *We will not be zooming classes for individual cases, as it causes too big of a distraction in the classroom.
We do ask that all dancers exhibiting cold symptoms (cough, sore throat, runny/stuffy nose) please wear a mask if they have not tested positive for covid/flu, and plan on attending class, to prevent the further spread of germs in the studio to other dancers/staff.
*Please note that our quarantine at the studio is longer than at school, due to the close proximity
in which they dance, and touch each other, along with sweating, and breathing heavily.
-If a student/staff member contracts Covid, they will not be allowed to return to the studio until the 5 day quarantine (from the start of symptoms) has ended. In the case of a staff member contracting covid, the potentially exposed dancers/teachers will be informed via email, asked to watch for any symptoms, and highly suggested to wear masks to class over the next week.
-If a student/staff member is exposed to someone in the household who has Covid, and the student/staff member has no symptoms, we ask that they quarantine for 5 days (from the start of the family member's symptoms), and then can return, as long as they have a negative result.
*Please note that it is your responsibility to inform us if your child has been exposed to someone in the household, or if they have contracted covid themselves, to help prevent the further spread of covid.
-If a student/staff member has contracted Influenza A or B, they should follow their Dr's orders as far as how many days to take off from the studio, to assure they have had enough rest, symptoms have ended, they are no longer contagious, and they have the energy to return.
-If a student/staff member has a fever, they may not return to KDC until they have been 24 hours fever free (without medicine).
-If a student/staff member is vomiting, they may not return to KDC until they have been 24 hours vomit free (without medicine).
I am forever grateful to all of you for allowing your child to continue to dance through this ongoing pandemic.
Dance is an outlet for our students to continue to allow self expression, strength, mobility, discipline, and fun in their lives,
and is much needed throughout this crazy time.
We love our KDC families, and look forward to seeing all of you :) Please let me know if you have any questions!
